State's Tax Free Weekends

Most of the states have Tax-Free Weekends, where you can get the school supplies without paying tax. It does save a little. My state had the tax-free weekend last week, I went out and stocked up on things that I would need this school year. Might as well take advantage of it while they are offering it.

I did manage to get ink, and copypaper with no tax. The nice thing about tax free weekend is that most of the stores will have sales going on at the same time. So I really ended up saving.

I noticed that Walmart now has off name brand of ink. I picked up some of that figuring that it will be just as good. After all I only need the ink to look dark enough on the paper for the kids to read it. But the offname brand is considerably cheaper than the name brand. Some days I think it's cheaper just to buy a whole new printer then to get the ink. During the year, I do use alot of ink and paper. I am always printing off worksheets for the kids to use.

I love the tax free weekends. With no tax, and the sales I stocked up pretty good for the school year.

If my child was younger I could of picked up many books for them to use during the year, but they don't have alot for the older kids.
